Installing the Quality App
The Quality App is the interface your inspectors live in. It runs at /garments/quality and is built for tablets and phones — the devices that actually go onto the floor. Get this installed on every inspector's device before anything else; the rest of the section assumes they can open it.
What it is
The Quality App is a touch-friendly frontend that talks to the same database as the Frappe Desk. Anything an inspector posts from the app — an inspection, a defect, a photo — shows up immediately on the Desk for everyone else. There's no separate data store and no sync delay.
It's installable on a device like a native app, but it's still a website underneath. That means no app store, no install package, and updates land the next time the inspector opens it.
Installing on a device
Visit https://your-site.com/garments/quality on the device's browser.
On iOS Safari: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android Chrome: open the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home Screen).
Once installed, the app launches like any native app — full screen, no browser chrome, its own icon. Pin it to the dock or home screen so inspectors can reach it without thinking.

Logging in
Inspectors use the same Frappe user accounts as everyone else. Log in once, the session persists, and every inspection posted is attributed to that user — the audit trail just works.
The practice that pays off: give every inspector their own user. Shared logins erase the audit trail. If GarmentFlow can't tell who posted an inspection, the defect-by-inspector reports become meaningless.
What's inside
Four views, accessed from the bottom tab bar:
- In-line — list of in-line inspections to do or recently done. Tap one to open.
- Final — list of final inspections (the pre-boxing pass). Tap one to open.
- Reports — at-a-glance numbers for the inspector's recent work.
- Settings — user, language, theme.
By default the app lands on Final QC — that's typically where the highest-stakes decisions get made.

Permissions
The app respects the same role permissions as the Desk. An inspector with the Quality Inspector role sees inspection lists; a Quality Manager sees more. If an inspector can't see something they expect to see, the answer is almost always a role missing on their user, not an app bug.
What to do next
Once the app is installed and login works, open Inspections for the conceptual model, then walk through In-line and Final flows.
